January16, 2023 Updates

A word from Sam

It has been an interesting start to the new year- I reserve my opinions on how it has been going so far, LOL.  It’s been a busy few weeks and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.  With that in mind, please don’t forget to create space in your life for self-care- whether it be 10 minutes a day or 60 minutes- make the time.

Being a therapist isn’t easy these days and life hasn’t been very cooperative for many of you these days.  Mad to each of you for showing up for clients and balancing it all.

General Updates

Apex Office

  • The apex office has a new printer!  Please be sure to add it as a device to your laptop for optimal printing!

  • The landlord has notified me that the water will be shut off to the entire building on Wednesday from 7:30am-8:45am.

  • The landlord has gotten several complaints about a dog barking and running around the hallways.  Joanne's Tilly is not involved in this but the landlord did remind us that only "service" animals are allowed in the building and not "ESA" animals (insert eyeroll).

Sanford Office

We have been struggling with internet connectivity for months at the Sanford office which was finally fixed this weekend.  An email was sent out to the Sanford office team making everyone aware of log ins and passwords for the internet.

  • Eric has been working hard on renovating our Group Room/Art Therapy Room and it will be ready within the next week or so.

    • Eyelight- Coffee, Comics & Houseplants has closed their doors officially this weekend- a sad day for people in Sanford who loved to gather there.  We have been working with the owners to coordinate the use of our space for a kids art class that they used to host in their space.

  • I offered my first official private group sound bath for local moms who were feeling stressed out and it went great!  As always there is a learning curve when doing something new but I am excited to offer more sound healing as most people are finding it extremely beneficial to attend.

  • Eric @ Renaissance Hypnosis is offering a few groups starting in February for anyone who may have a client who is interested- see attached flyer for more info.  His first Men's Mindset Meditation Meetup will have a in-person option (in Sanford) and online option.  More info can be found on his website

  • Alchemy Wellness Center, LLC will begin offering more services over the next few months:

    • Self-care Studio will open within the Wellness Center offering a variety of self-care products and a nice community hangout spot.

    • We have ordered our first Salt Cabin and will be offering this service once the room is completed (x 12 weeks or so, depending on when it arrives).  The executive one person salt cabin combines:  a fully functional sauna; a professional grade Halo Therapy salt room; and a LED chromotherapy (light therapy) chamber.

    • We are recruiting and have made some great connections with massage therapist who will be available for bookings in the Sanford office (specializes in prenatal massage ++), a yoga instructor and a local artist looking to create therapeutic art groups for adults.

    • We may be partnering with VivaHydration to offer Mobile IV Vitamin and IM Shots- The owners are local to NC.  Julianna is going to give any of our team a 10% discount on their services and if you are interested we can host a "pop-up" for the team in the Apex or Sanford offices. Respond to this email thread if interested!

School-based Program

We are now live with the Wake County School-based Program, questions about this can be sent directly to Laurie MacDonald, LCSW!
