Meet Melissa
Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) whose primary focus is on individual therapy, working with both children and adults to navigate through trauma, foster mindfulness, and emphasize the significance of incorporating self-care into their healing journey. Her goal is to guide clients in identifying and leveraging their internal strengths to overcome challenges.
Melissa is trained in Accelerated Rapid Transformation (ART) which is an evidence-based modality that supports trauma recovery. One of the special things about ART is that through using a specific protocol, clients oftentimes don’t have to talk through the details of the trauma which is one of the things that makes this process unique. When clients replace their negative images with positive ones they don’t need to talk to the therapist about any details of the trauma-which can be a huge relief for some clients who don’t benefit from “talking: through the trauma.
Clients can anticipate a treatment approach that is both strengths-based and client-centered. Melissa tailors her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual, creating a collaborative and empowering environment. Together, the focus is on building resilience, enhancing coping skills, and promoting holistic well-being.
Bringing a wealth of experience and a distinctive perspective to her role as an outpatient therapist at Peak Professional Group, LLC, Melissa draws from a 20-year career in the United States Air Force. Her extensive background in military healthcare has provided her with a profound understanding of the challenges individuals, especially within the special operations community, may face.
Clients often find solace in my empathetic approach, understanding, and relatability, making our therapeutic relationship a cornerstone of their healing journey.
In session, clients can expect a welcoming atmosphere where they are free to explore and address various issues and concerns. Melissa is committed to providing a personalized approach to your mental health journey, recognizing the paramount importance of a safe and supportive space. Together, she will collaboratively set and pursue meaningful goals, building on your strengths, developing coping strategies, and fostering resilience. Throughout our time together, anticipate gaining valuable insights and acquiring tools that empower you to navigate life more effectively. Her goal is to support you not only in addressing immediate concerns but also in cultivating long-term skills for sustained well-being. She is dedicated to facilitating positive change and eagerly look forward to being a part of your transformative process.
When asked about her therapeutic approach she says the following:
My therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion and understanding, honed through years of working with diverse individuals. I seamlessly integrate evidence-based interventions, leveraging my experience to tailor our sessions to your unique needs.
