Meet Max
Max takes an integrated approach when it comes to treatment. Every individual is different, so he believes that your therapy should be just as unique. In addition to trauma, Max also has expertise in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and a variety of other mental health concerns.
When asked about his therapy approaches, here is what Max said:
"You deserve the best treatment for you. If you're trying to imagine what a session with me looks like- I'm laid-back, not afraid to use occasional humor and I see every person as a valuable part of our greater human race, and I am a bit silly. What I wouldn't do? I won't judge you, I won't tell you how to live your life and I'll never push you harder than you are ready for. So, what will I do for you? Simple. I'll help you explore yourself, who you are and who you want to be, what you want and how you'd like to get there. Then, I'll walk with you while you create your own path."
“I am a graduate with a Masters of Clinical Social Work from the University of North Carolina (UNC)- Chapel Hill but my journey started well before that. My road has been long and diverse. I started my path with inner city LGBTQI youth in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Having experienced homelessness as a teen, I related to inner city kids and helped them build a sense of self-efficacy and motivation towards positive growth. Since then, I've helped children, adults, and families with challenges ranging from severe trauma, psychosis, exploration of personal identity, emotional concerns, stressors related to change, and behavioral issues.”
