What are CPT codes?

Common Procedure Coding (CPT) codes are used when submitting claims to insurance companies. Each type of service has it’s own unique CPT Code. The most common CPT codes used at Peak Professional Group, PLLC are the following:

  • 90791- Assessment

  • 90837- 53-60 min individual psychotherapy session

  • 90834- 45 min individual psychotherapy session

  • 90832- 30 min individual psychotherapy session

  • 90847- family psychotherapy session w/ client

  • 90846-family psychotherapy session w/out client

In our Electronic Health Record system (Theranest) we have a lot of variations to these codes that are specific to a client’s insurance company. A complete list of these codes can be located here.

What if I schedule an appointment and use the wrong CPT Code?

If you schedule an appointment with a client and have selected the incorrect CPT code (Service Type) you have a few options depending on where you are at with the appointment.

Before the appointment date & time- in Theranest> Client> Appointments> Select the appointment that needs changed (will say Upcoming under Status. Click on the blue hyperlink on the left side of the screen under Date/Time which will open up the appointment information. You can now change the appointment information. After the Appointment date & time- If you have already seen the client and realize that the wrong service type was used, email Calina to let her know that a change needs to be made.

What if my client no showed for an appointment?
