Meet Drew

Drew is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) who focuses on creating a supportive and non-judgmental space where both she and clients can collaboratively work on goals. She views therapy as team work, and clients have to put in the work in order to get something out of our sessions. She offers a non-judgmental, unbiased approach to sessions while also, at times, challenging a client’s thoughts and perspectives during counseling sessions. Her aim is to help clients that she is working with to explore different viewpoints and re-frame situations in a way that can lead to new insight and growth. This process is intended to support clients in seeing things from a different angle and to promote positive change, not to invalidate experiences or emotions.

Drew brings a casual vibe as she wants her clients to feel at home in sessions. She wants clients to feel like they're in a judgment-free, safe space, and not like they are being analyzed, or they are in a doctor's office where they should be nervous.

She work extensively with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. She helps clients navigate major life transitions, such as career changes, relationship challenges, and grief. She often incorporates CBT and mindfulness techniques to assist clients in managing stress and improving their emotional well-being. She also has experience working with young adults and college students, addressing issues like academic stress and identity development. She also enjoys working with younger adolescents and older adults experiencing a range of challenges including anger issues, divorce or other familial situations, OCD, and eating disorders.

When asked about her approach in sessions, Drew says the following:

I view therapy as client-empowered. I believe the best therapy happens when the therapist and client work collaboratively to build on the client's strengths and support their growth and self-discovery. I also believe therapy takes time, and nothing heals overnight. Clients should know to be patient and flow with the process.
